Today is my first missed meeting of the year. It is the Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge of North Wales meeting this morning. Unfortunately it is right the other side of Wales, and to get there in time for the meeting meant I had to get up early,...
The Masonic year tends to run from September until June, with July and August being our summer break. There are of course exceptions to every rule, and we do have the occasional summer meeting, but the majority runs September-June. This coming year looks like it could be a busy year for me.
I have therefore decided to blog a record of all my meetings this year, to give people an idea of what a busy Masonic year is like. I should point out that, this will be as I have already stated a busy year for me, and the average commitment to Freemasonry is a lot less than what I will be recording. I just imagined it may be of interest to some people. There are a lot of Freemasons who without visiting just have around eight meetings, and eight rehearsals a year.
So come along with me on a journey.
Today is my first missed meeting of the year. It is the Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge of North Wales meeting this morning. Unfortunately it is right the other side of Wales, and to get there in time for the meeting meant I had to get up early,...
This evening was the Wrexhamian Lodge Installation meeting. It was also the first time I was attending (as a member) with my father (as a visitor) since he had resigned at the last meeting, My father had quit over the way the Lodge had been run for...
This evening was the Wrexhamian Lodge Installation Rehearsals. I call it rehearsals, but neither the DC, nor ADC actually turned up. Neither did the Master Elect, SW, JW, etc. It also turned out that the Installing masters have not be sorted, not...
This evening was the Wrexhamian Chapter Installation meeting. We had the Second Provincial Grand Principle, and the two Assistant Provincial Grand Master's down (So no pressure). But all in all the meeting went well. I was inducted into the chair...
This evening was the final Wrexhamian Chapter Rehearsals for Friday's Installation meeting. I think we are sorted, now for the actual event. This is a good thing, because we have a few VIP's turning up on the night and we want to put on a good...
This evening was my first Royal Arch meeting of the season. It was Wynnstay Chapter's meeting. We only had a "Admin" night planned, Investing officers not at the Installation, Installing H, and doing the Accounts, etc. It was still a good night,...
Today was the Annual meeting of the Province of North Wales for Craft & Chapter. For the first time since 2018 I did not have to be there for 8am for the morning rehearsals. This gave me two great things, one I did not have to get up at silly...
This evening we had a committee meeting for Wrexhamian Lodge. This committee meeting was to decide the people that we elected last Friday (I know it makes no sense). And to sort out the Officer list for the upcoming year. The first hour was taken...
At 9am this morning I wandered off to the Maesgwyn Masonic Hall for another Wrexhamian Chapter Rehearsals. This time it was only for Principles and Past Principles, so that we could rehearse all the inner workings. Since it was a Saturday morning,...
This evening was the first meeting of Wrexhamian Lodge for the season. We had a Third Degree ceremony, and due to the SW recovering from an operation, I dusted off my memory and stood in the chair for the evening. The ceremony went well, the only...
