The Masonic year tends to run from September until June, with July and August being our summer break. There are of course exceptions to every rule, and we do have the occasional summer meeting, but the majority runs September-June. This coming year looks like it could be a busy year for me.
I have therefore decided to blog a record of all my meetings this year, to give people an idea of what a busy Masonic year is like. I should point out that, this will be as I have already stated a busy year for me, and the average commitment to Freemasonry is a lot less than what I will be recording. I just imagined it may be of interest to some people. There are a lot of Freemasons who without visiting just have around eight meetings, and eight rehearsals a year.
So come along with me on a journey.
To continue the trend of Wrexhamian Chapter now having an additional rehearsal, this evening we had an additional Committee meeting. I say it was an additional one, because we had it to discuss next years officer list, and who was doing what part...
This morning I got up early, and headed down south into England to visit Charles Darwin College in Shrewsbury. I arrived at the Masonic Hall in Shrewsbury to find the carpark closed off so we had to park in the treelined area to the side of the...
This evening was Wrexhamian Lodge's rehearsals. I am still skipping these since they are being organised in secret, so there is no chance of helping out or doing any part since it is being planned in secret with even members of other Lodges being...
This evening I visited Westminster Lodge in the Province of Cheshire. I have been visiting Westminster Lodge on and off for almost 20 years now (I first visited their December white table event 20 years ago this December). A good friend of mine,...
This evening was the meeting of Wrexhamian Chapter. It was a very enjoyable evening, our new candidate was a member of Wrexhamian Lodge so we went above and beyond to make sure it was a good ceremony for him. And everything seemed to go ok, both...
This evening was the Wrexhamian Chapter Second Rehearsals. Yes, like Hobbit's and their second breakfasts, we have Rehearsals and Second Rehearsals. So we had a good evening of rehearsals and gossip (Yes, Masons are worse than old women for...
This evening was the first Wrexhamian Lodge Committee meeting in ages. To mark this auspicious event, we decided to hold the meeting in a pub instead of the Maesgwyn Hall. This way we could have access to drinks, would not be charged for using the...
This evening I visited Cambria Chapter Rose Croix for the first time ever. An email had gone out to all the Chapters in the District informing everyone about the meeting, and that the Inspector General was going to be giving a talk on the history...
This Morning I went along to Ruthin to visit Old Ruthinain Lodge. I enjoy visiting here, because not only do they meet in a quaint little temple up in the cloisters, but they are a great bunch of people. Today they were doing an enactment of a...
Today was a bit of a panic. It was both Wrexhamian Lodge's meeting, and the start of the 6 Nations rugby competition, and Wales were kicking off the season. Apparently we had a second degree practice, because we have a candidate next month and they...
