This evening was the Valle Crucis Chapter’s Enthronement.
I will admit the DC team (Including myself as ADC) entered the evenings event with a lot of worry.
Well, just two days earlier we had learned that not everyone had received the summons or notification of the meeting, and this included the person going into the chair. We knew that nobody on the officer list had been asked if they are happy to take their offered role, nor know what their role was going to be. And we had 6 joining members who may or may not have been correctly sorted. And all this on top of the Inspector General attending!
Oh. did I also mention that not everyone had gotten the memo that the old ritual was no longer valid as of last December, so we all have to use the 2024 one now?
Even with everything that was sent to try us. It was a good evening. Everything went as well as could be expected, and even better, after 2 years I finally got to stand down as IPS, and will no longer have to do the toast at the festive board. Which was good, because I did not attend this evenings.
We had 35 dining, and we were forced to dine in a small room that is uncomfortable with 18 dining, is unsafe with 25 dining, and we were going to have 35. So i gave it a miss.

The Ancient and Accepted Rite (Rose Croix)
The Ancient and Accepted Rite originated in France in 1754 and worked in the USA where a Supreme Council was formed in 1801.
The Supreme Council for England and Wales was established in 1845 under a patent from the Supreme Council of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America. The Rite consists of its own 33 Degrees entirely separate and distinct from any other Order.
The three Craft Degrees are accepted as equivalent to the first 3 Degrees of this Rite. Candidates for Perfection are taken from the 4º to 17º Degrees by name only, prior to being made Excellent and Perfect Princes Rose Croix in a detailed and beautiful 18º Degree ceremony. This is the only degree permitted to be worked in a private Rose Croix Chapter. Degrees above the 18º are awarded on merit after a brother has passed the Chair of his Chapter.
