This morning I woke up at Silly o’clock to head off to Macclesfield Masonic Hall.
I had to be there at 9:30am, and ideally earlier to find somewhere to park and to grab a coffee before the start. It turned out that it was a very good job I had planned to get there so early, since road closures added a half hour onto my travel time and I only just made it in time.
So coffee was skipped. Coffee was Skipped!!!!
At 10 we opened the Vault of Adepts (S.R.I.A. Second Order Meeting). We confirmed the minutes, and did the admin that was needed, and then it was time for the ceremonies. We did the usual, VII, VI, and V’s, before closing up and heading to the bar for a drink before out meal. This is often the best part of an S.R.I.A. meeting, the conversations afterwards, you never know what strange and interesting topics you will end up discussing nor which interesting people will be in that discussion.
After the meeting, I sat about in the bar with some fellow Bishop Wilkins members discussing important issues, until the staff politely informed us to bugger off they wanted to lock up. So it was a trip back in torrential rain, making it a slow return and a long day.
But it was the most enjoyable day I have had in a while, I do recommend this order to anyone and everyone.
