First Masonic Step

This evening I became a Freemason.

I have not mentioned anything on here up until now, because there was that fear (Due to a Monty Python sketch) about the fabled “Black Balls“. Not that I had anything to worry about, I am awesome, who wouldn’t want me to join?

So a few weeks back I went along to a meeting with some of the members. To answer any questions I may have, to check I am suitable, and to ask me some questions. The meeting was in an old church building, which is where the Lodge meets.

The meeting went well, and they implied there and then, that I would be approved and would join at their February meeting.

So last night, I turned up at 6pm in a suit. And was initiated into LLannerch Lodge in the Province of North Wales. It was an eye-opening evening (and that is not a pub about blindfolds). I really enjoyed the meeting, even though I did not really know what was going on. And the meal in the pub after, or festive board as they called it was also enjoyable. I did have to stand up and thank everyone for letting me join, after they had all stood to toast me.

Overall the whole experience was amazing. It may take a while for it all to sync in.

But I am now an Entered Apprentice Freemason.
