BBW – 40th Anniversary of Volunteer Week

I first heard about Blood Bikes Wales when I was an organiser of the Charity 3-Day Motorcycle Tour’s of Wales.

In 2016 we had selected Blood Bikes Wales as the Charity of the year, and some Blood Biker’s joined us on the tour, and at the after-party/cheque handover. During the weekend we were able to raise £3,351.

After hearing about all the good they do, and how much money they save the NHS, money which can then be used on other more important things. I decided I wanted to help out more.
In 2016/17 (I forget which, since the times before the great Covid Lockdown when the world stopped, seems all hazy now) I joined as a member of the Wrexham group of Blood Bikes Wales. And have had the honour of travelling all over North Wales giving talks about Blood Bikes Wales and What we do (I believe the number of talks is now over 50+, and I’ve raised almost £50,000).

I have never regretted volunteering my time. I would strongly suggest that everyone find a cause or organisation they feel strongly about, and during this 40th Anniversary of Volunteer Week, maybe reach out and offer to help.

We will all probably need the NHS at some point of our lives, so it makes sense to do what you can to help them out, so that when you need them they are as prepared as possible.
