This evening was the meeting of Clwyd College S.R.I.A.
So I popped along to the coast to the lovely Lady Augusta Masonic Hall in Mostyn. There were a few down, both members and visitors. Good numbers always make for an enjoyable evening, and as the Celebrant, it was nice to receive such support.
The plans for the evening were to have a double Practicus (Grade 3) ceremony, which went excellently. It is always so much better when you have good candidates, and officers. It makes the Masters work so easy. We also elected someone to go into the chair for the forthcoming year, since this evening was my last time in the chair, apart from opening at our next meeting.
The person who will be going into the chair next is my Seconder into the order. This means I get to propose the toast to the Celebrant (Him), which I am looking forward to since I finally get to say nice things about him.
The meeting ended with an interesting alternative lecture on the colours. I find the topic of colours fascinating probably due to my colour-blindness, so I probably see them differently to others. I keep meaning to do my own paper on colors using my colour-blindness as part of the research.
The evening ended with a very enjoyable festive board. The food was excellent, but then Ian (if you know, you know) never fails to impress. The meal was full of fun and interesting conversations. You always know you had a good evening, when you leave looking forward to your next one.
